About
A chiropractor’s specialty is the neuromuscular skeletal system – nerves, muscles and bones, and the relationship between structure and function. The nervous system controls the function of our entire body and keeps us well.
If the spinal bones are not moving properly, all of the related structures will not be able to function at 100% and this can cause inflammation, stiffness and pain. These become “warning signals” that something is wrong.
There are many incidents that can cause spinal joint restriction or misalignment which causes spinal nerve interference, for example – repetitive movements, chronic postures, slips, falls, car accidents, and pregnancy. Our bodies have an amazing ability to compensate, and we often continue to function through all of these life events even though our spine may be functioning at less than 100%.
It is often something very benign, like bending to tie a shoe, that is the “final straw” which causes a painful episode…this is your body’s way of telling you that something is wrong.
Spinal misalignment is much like a dental cavity, you may not know it is there but eventually it needs to be taken care of.
We only have one spine and nervous system. It needs to be well adjusted and functioning at 100% in order for all of our organs and systems to be healthy.
